The contemplation of a first date is a relationship killer! If I want to meet someone for the first time in want to do a "real" activity with them. Dinner out is expensive, noisy and distracting, going to a movie is passive and wasteful in terms of interpersonal time. Therefore, the secret, I believe, is to mutually decide on some low-key activity that appeals to both parties and just "go with the flow." There is plenty of time to be as you are, casual, engaging, active, learning, and mostly feeling the vibes of the interaction. I like these mini adventures that cost little, both parties arrive and leave separately, they are time-limited and they allow for an experience that generates a lot of valuable reflection on the quality of the interaction for both individuals and whether you enjoyed their company, essentially. Anyway, that is my style.

I have been around the block a few times, so I am not being an old "fuddy-duddy" when I say nothing comes to mind. But in the context of a new relationship with someone, this always seems to permit doing something different fromt the modus operandi that most of us find ourselves stuck in. That is the beauty of mixing young and mature together. We bring new vitality, new options to the forefront. So, although I cannot think of something novel now as I write, I am sure to discover something that I what to try when the chemistry is right between new people and they open doors of inspiration.

Most of my goals in life have been fulfilled except my life as a gay man has not been fulfilled to the degree that I desire. My camera and I are inseparable! There is nothing more fun for me than to take advantage of or create a photographic encounter. It is most fun with people, especially at an etnic dance performance where there are smiles, happiness, and complete unselfconsciousness. Fun is meeting someone new and having fantasies about the friendship.
